St. Thomas School

In 2018, the Virgin Islands Montessori and Peter Gruber International Academy saw a remarkable transformation with the repair and upgrade of their existing solar array, damaged by Hurricane Irma and Maria.

This 100kW system is comprised of 285 high-efficiency solar panels, paired with battery storage, smart inverters, and 5 diesel generators for backup power.

As a result, these upgrades drastically reduced the school’s dependence on grid power and achieved a remarkable 85% reduction in the utility costs.
